From sleeping bags for mountain climbers to Moncler today

In the 1950s, Moncler was known for producing sleeping bags, tents and other camping equipment. But everything changed when an outdoor enthusiast named Lionel Terray discovered Moncler's sleeping bags and started using them on his expeditions to the highest mountains in the world.

Terray, who was a well-known climber at the time, was impressed by the quality and warmth of Moncler's sleeping bags, and began recommending them to other climbers. This led to Moncler becoming known in climbing circles, and the company began producing outerwear and other clothing specifically designed to cope with the extreme weather conditions in the mountains.
