Porcelain. Do not overheat the bowl in the microwave. Wash gently. Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool. Product size and shape vary from product to product due to the manufacturing process. The appearance of uneven color blisters varies from item to item. Some products may have a scorched-like texture on the surface. There is a unique glaze effect called "yo-hen", an unintentional color transformation on ceramics and porcelain after firing.
