The Apolis Market Bag is handmade by mothers in Bangladesh who receive Fair Trade certified wages, annual profit dividends and a retirement fund.
In 1976, Saidpur Enterprises established a project to help the mothers of malnourished children by providing them with work in producing jute handicrafts, as well as helping artisans to sell to a larger and fairer export market. They also offer literary classes, training in nutrition, help with women's legal rights, educational awareness and financial understanding.
